If you’re a regular shopper at Woolworths then listen up. Woolworths is launching the Woolworths Everyday Rewards Qantas credit card on November 1, 2010. With this card shopping takes on a new dimension because now you can earn Qantas Frequent Flyer Points for feeding your family with groceries from Woolies.

You can be part of the new shopping revolution by grabbing this card when it is launched. For a low $89 annually you can call the Woolworths Everyday Rewards Qantas credit card your own. Imagine how many hundreds of dollars you spend weekly if Woolies is your preferred grocery supermarket and how many free flights this can earn you over time?

For every $1 you spend with the Woolworths Everyday Rewards Qantas card you will earn one Qantas Frequent Flyer point. To me this is a big deal because we spend around $600 on average each month. Over a year this will add up, especially with the combination of being an Everyday Rewards loyalty card and a credit card to boot. Woolworths Group has a range of partners that offer you special deals and added points earnings for using this card.

If you think the 1-for1 isn’t quite enough to make your heart beat faster, look at the following scenario. This lets you boost your points earning tremendously with little extra effort. Why not make the most of it?

If you go grocery shopping at Woolworths, spending $230 (Tassie is excluded) you could earn not just 230 Frequent Flyer points from Qantas, but 430. This is how you’d do it:

200 Qantas Frequent Flyer points earned from the Everyday Rewards program (1 point per $1 above $30 minimum spend) by scanning the barcode on the back of the credit card.

If you repeat this exercise week by week for a full year you could potentially earn a healthy 22,000 points a the one year. For this amount of points you’d receive a $150 redemption for Woolies gift cards, or you can turn up the base with a sleek Bose Companion 2 Multimedia Speaker. If you insist on flying you can do that too; you’d get an Economy Classic Award flight from Sydney to Brisbane and return with your bum parked in a Qantas seat.

Peter Burgan, GM of Woolworths Everyday Rewards stated: “The Woolworths Everyday Rewards loyalty card program has gone from strength to strength with more than 5.4 million registered members, of whom 3 million have also registered to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points.”

“Woolworths is firmly focused on providing the best possible value to customers across all our brands and services, whether it’s a basket of groceries, a mobile phone plan or a rewards credit card. Since the launch of the Woolworths Everyday Rewards program, millions of our customers have come to value Qantas Frequent Flyer points and this credit card offers them a simple way to receive even more value from everyday purchases.”

Simon Hickey, Qantas Frequent Flyer Chief Executive exclaimed: “Qantas Frequent Flyer is committed to making it as easy as possible for our members to earn points and providing them with as many ways as possible to use those points. The Woolworths Everyday Rewards Qantas credit card is another great way our members can earn points by doing their everyday shopping.”

If you apply for the new Woolworths Everyday Qantas credit card before 31 January 2011 you are eligible to earn a bonus 16,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

Once you have a good amount of points you can redeem them with flights to over 700 Australian and worldwide destinations. Alternatively you can also shop and choose from over 1,800 products, or even buy vouchers for your friends at the Qantas Frequent Flyer Store.

In the year 2009 some three million FF customers redeemed some three million flights with the Qantas Frequent Flyer loyalty program. Destinations included overseas stops. There were over 350,000 items purchased with points from members to help them get more from their points.

As the second product in line in their financial services initiative, the Woolworths Everyday Rewards credit card offers shoppers a chance to stretch their dollars further than previously possible. If you shop at Woolies on a frequent basis then applying for this card is a certain no-brainer. Act now and earn free points while the promotion is active.
